History

The Desert to Desert Expressway was built in 1955, 6 years before the rest of the Empire Expressway System. The route originally went from Savannah in Vibe County to Emerald City in Desertlands County. An extension was built in 1965 and connected it to Expressway 30 just west of Rockridge Beach. The route was then extended to New Dune in 1979. The Desert to Desert Expressway is now one of the largest expressways in Desertlands, with the section between Emerald City, DL and Wilma, DL having over 6 lanes in each direction. The name of the expressway was given due to it originating in the Vibe County Badlands and ending in the Grandes Colinas Desert.
